Meet the Artist: Mr. Kiji, a Master of Visual Storytelling
Mr. Kiji was born in Japan and raised in New York City. Kiji was formally trained in the Tibetan Buddhist Thangka painting while in Nepal as a teenager. He then went on to earn a BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design. He specializes in providing Visual Direction, Graphic Art and Illustration for a variety of companies such as Away Travel, Buzzfeed, Citibank, Delta, Google, IBM, Nike and Urban Outfitters amongst others.
Mr. Kiji is a passionate draftsman and doodler. He firmly believes in the empowerment drawing provides by tapping into the infinite possibilities of your imagination. A childhood love for the Ligne Claire style made popular by artists suchs as Herge and Jean Giraud Moebius, two artists that inspired him greatly to pursue art as a child. This was the inspiration for the development and themes in this series of exclusive illustrations.
